Southwest Concrete Pavement Association (SWCPA) presented EPIC Awards to six projects this year during the California Concrete Pavement Conference on Wednesday, April 22nd. EPIC stands for Excellence in Paving & Infrastructure Concrete.

Paul Mignone (above), Vice President, FlatironDragados, and North Coast Corridor (NCC) Project Manager for seven years, detailed the scope of the NCC Project, an expansive, 40-year JV effort that encompasses widening I-5 with Express Lanes, making environmental improvements to San Elijo Lagoon, and double-tracking the LOSSAN rail line – the second-busiest intercity rail corridor in the nation. Dave Rath, Southwest Concrete Paving Company (SWCP), stands alongside SCWPA Executive Director Charles Stuart. SWCP received the EPIC Award for Military Airfield Paving for two projects they performed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
