Workshop Description

For years, the primary benefit of smoother pavements was recognized as improved ride-comfort experienced by the vehicle occupants while driving over pavements. Today the list of benefits has grown to include improved pavement service life, reduced fuel costs, reduced vehicle maintenance costs, and improved safety. Many advances made in recent years have improved the ways we design and construct smoother pavements. If we build smooth concrete pavements, they will deliver smoothness benefits for many, many years. Then far in the future, over the life of the pavement, the smoothness can easily be refreshed using diamond grinding equipment.

Join us on Tuesday, December 6th at 9 am to learn more about the fundamentals of concrete pavement smoothness and how to achieve smoother results on your projects.

Our panelists on this important topic are Leif Wathne, Associate Director of the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center, and Matt Fonte, Principal at Fonte & Co.
