What goes into well-designed, correctly engineered concrete pavement roadways? Our three engaging presenters will provide you with a clear understanding of the fundamentals needed to create sustainable, long-life concrete pavement roads and highways.
In this workshop, you’ll learn: 1) Industry and academic perspectives on what makes for an efficient, buildable design; 2) The engineering perspective on designing long-life concrete pavement; and 3) The agency perspective on the key steps, latest standards and best approaches to concrete pavement designs.
Our speakers include Dulce Rufino Feldman, Somayeh Nassiri and Christopher Senseney.
Dulce Rufino Feldman, Ph.D., P.E., Senior Concrete Pavement Design Engineer, Caltrans Office of Concrete Pavements – Dr. Rufino Feldman’s specialties include concrete pavement design and analysis, finite element modeling, data analysis, statistical modeling, pavement condition surveying, and pavement management systems.
Somayeh Nassiri, Ph.D., Associate Professor at University of California Pavement Research Center, U.C. Davis – Dr. Nassiri teaches courses on the materials, design, repair, rehabilitation & management of concrete pavements. She has an avid interest in pavement materials and structural design techniques that improve pavement sustainability.
Christopher Senseney, Ph.D., P.E., Senior Instructor at University of Colorado, and Director of the Kiewit Design-Build Scholar Program – Dr. Senseney is an instructor in the Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering Dept. at CU Boulder with a concentration in construction engineering and management. He is a subject matter expert in the design, construction, and evaluation of airfield and roadway pavements.
Who should attend: Agency and industry personnel, including engineers, specifiers, contractors, and technicians who are involved in improving concrete pavement design, performance, and construction for roadway and airfield projects in the Western United States.
