Rest in Peace February 10, 2025

Remembering my husband, Frank
While Frank worked in the construction industry for about 40 years, he found his passion 25 years ago in heavy highway paving. Frank often said, “Find a job you love, and you will have a fulfilling life.” He truly loved his career and the men and women he worked with over the years.

I would like to thank the industry for the support, camaraderie, and opportunities that allowed Frank to thrive and make a lasting impact.

Thank You,
Tiffany Stevenson

Frank was an outstanding individual, and a great family man. In my mind, no one will ever surpass his bravery to the end while fighting cancer.

His knowledge and passion for paving are just a small part of his legacy. Frank was a great mentor, and was admired by his paving group, companies he worked for, and the entire paving industry. He was an asset that the SWCPA and the construction industry will deeply miss.

Individuals like Frank are few and far between, I will miss his bravery, wry smile, light sarcasm, passion to make concrete pavement better, and his friendship.

Frank was a true professional in every sense of the word. He was a man who dedicated his professional life to building roads that connected communities and enhanced our transportation network. Frank was regarded as one of the best in the field. He fostered a collaborative and innovative work environment where he excelled at sharing knowledge and expertise, helping to shape the next generation of concrete paving professionals. His positive attitude and can-do approach resonated with everyone he worked with, leaving a legacy of inspiration and dedication in the industry. Frank made the people around him better. His legacy will live through those of us who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Always generous with his time, Frank mentored and instructed the Sully-Miller interns.

Frank was always more than willing to teach others and pass on his knowledge of concrete paving and construction. His excitement for our work was contagious and he truly made everyone around him better. Frank was one of those guys you could take to a meeting and everyone in the room knew they were in good hands and that the work, no matter how challenging, was going to be completed with attention and care. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and work with Frank, and he is one of those guys I will remember forever.

Frank always made the time to look after the guys, get them to training, and to have a little fun. The loyalty that people had for Frank was impressive and his following was second to none. Frank made our industry better with his knowledge, work ethic, personality, and willingness to share, which he displayed on a daily basis.

Frank Stevenson was a legend that led from the heart. He cared about the people that he worked with and always put them first. He practiced what he preached and always did the right thing. Frank taught and mentored his teams, leaving behind a workforce that will look fondly on the time they had with Frank.

Frank was an incredible person – and that went above just his contributions at work. He could smile and laugh through the tough stuff in a way that put smiles in everyone’s hearts and minds enabling them to know that it would all be okay. I hope that the memories of those smiles and Frank’s laugh resonate within his family’s hearts in that same way.

Frank was a valued member of OC 405 for nearly five years as our paving manager, where he earned deep respect and admiration. Frank was not only a dedicated leader but also an incredible mentor to many within OC 405 and OHLA. Some of us were also fortunate to work alongside Frank at C.C. Meyers, Walsh, and Sully Miller, and further witnessed Frank’s impact on our industry.

We want to extend our condolences to the team members who were mentored, coached, and influenced by Frank. His leadership and wisdom shaped so many careers, and we encourage you to honor his memory by sharing what you learned from Frank with others.

Frank’s contributions, guidance, and friendship will be deeply missed. Be a “Frank” and pave the way.

I loved working with Frank when I was with Guntert & Zimmerman and then at American Highway. Always a fair and straight-forward guy. We all are going to miss him deeply. Frank was a concrete paving guy 100%. From all of us here at American Highway, we extend our sympathies to Frank’s family and his workmates at Sully-Miller.

Frank wasn’t just a colleague—he was a leader, a mentor, and a friend. He had an incredible gift for his craft, a depth of knowledge that he shared freely, and a passion for coaching and guiding others. No matter where he went, people followed – his project engineers, his labor force, anyone who had the privilege of working with him. That wasn’t just because he was brilliant at what he did; it was because of the person he was.

Frank was loyal, respected, and truly admired. But above all, when I think of him, I think of his smile. That big, unforgettable smile that seemed to carry a sense of warmth and happiness everywhere he went. He had a way of making those around him feel valued, appreciated, and part of something bigger. He was a happy guy, and that happiness was contagious.

I only had the pleasure of working with Frank for a short period of time, but during that time, it was a true honor to work with someone so dedicated, selfless, and committed to teamwork as Frank. He was not the type to stand around and direct work, he would jump right in to help by operating equipment, grabbing a shovel or whatever it took to get the job done. His positive and happy nature made it so very easy to work with him. We lost “One of The Greats.” He was always willing to share his knowledge with all those that worked with him, and for him. That was Frank and that is what I will miss. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
